Chiropractic Care

Your First Visit

Health History Form

When you arrive for your initial visit, you will be given a case history form to complete (or you may prefer to download the form from this website and fill it out before your appointment. Click here to download.) This paperwork provides us with your health history and current condition. It also lets Dr. Moore know your concerns and your health goals.

Consultation

Next, you will have a consultation with Dr. Moore to discuss your history in more detail. This initial visit is designed for Dr. Moore to learn more about you, your condition, and your expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals. If you have questions about Dr. Moore’s approach or what you might expect at this office, please feel free to ask them at this time.

Examination

After your consultation, Dr. Moore will perform a complete (fully-clothed) examination to check your posture, muscle tone, and neurological flexibility. With the combination of subjective and objective findings, Dr. Moore will formulate an opinion regarding the state of your spinal health and she will suggest a program for your return to wellness. If you choose to begin care, you will most likely receive your first chiropractic adjustment at that time.

X-Ray Studies

If Dr. Moore feels that your condition requires x-rays or an MRI, she will refer you to a facility that can provide the required views. Our office makes every effort to examine your body and your spine in the least invasive manner possible. Unnecessary radiation would be counterproductive to the healing process, however, x-rays are sometimes warranted, especially in the case of traumatic injury. If you have had films taken elsewhere, Dr. Moore may request them for review

Spinal Adjustments or Clearings

After Dr. Moore has thoroughly examined your spine, you will probably receive your first session. This will consist of light touches or taps along your spine (Network Chiropractic), and may also include pelvic blocking (with specially designed wedges called “blocks”), cranial or extremity adjustments, and the application of specific essential oils. (Please see our services section for a more in-depth explanation of Dr. Moore’s specialties).

Wellness Program

Before you leave, Dr. Moore may suggest take-home care to support your in-office sessions. This might include nutritional supplements, appropriate exercises, and/or essential oils. She may also work with you to create supportive habits and lifestyle modifications. Our wellness program includes a healthy diet, moderate exercise, and a positive mental attitude, but because everyone is unique, each person’s plan is customized to their individual needs.

Please keep in mind that you didn’t arrive at your present condition over-night, so you’ll need to allow yourself some time and space to achieve a state of true health and wellbeing. Healing is a process, not an event.

Dr. Moore will explain what you might expect on your exciting journey toward health. With her ongoing support and encouragement, you will embark on an exhilarating adventure that is empowering, challenging and rewarding. All it takes is a commitment to the process and a desire to be truly well.

When aligned, you are at your most productive, dynamic, creative level of performance.
